TAV Medical operates out of two plants of ~12,000 sq.m located in the town of Shlomi and at the Bar-Lev Industrial Park. These modern manufacturing environments comprise the most advanced laboratories, production and QA facilities, and state-of-the-art machinery including 1,500 sq.m ISO 8 and ISO 7 clean rooms.

TAV Medical was founded in 1991 by Meir Ben-Shabat, an entrepreneur who 16 years previously started his first company, ISTAV, specializing in the design and manufacture of metal parts for diverse industries, including the necessary molds.
In 1985, Meir Ben-Shabat invented, developed and produced surgical equipment for endoscopy treatments, an activity sold to T.A.G. Medical Products Corporation, Kibbutz Gaaton in 1992, which continues operations to this day.
After founding TAV Medical in 1991, Meir Ben-Shabat went on to found PMP -Precise Medical Products in 1997.
As of today, TAV Medical and PMP provide full turn-key manufacturing services for the medical industry.
In 2011 TAV Medical further expanded its activity through a new dental division, TAV Dental. TAV Dental develops, manufactures and markets a broad array of dental products including implants and abutments, manufactured from raw materials such as Zirconia and Titanium. The company’s proprietary technology underpins its design innovation and production processes.
TAV Medical also possess 17.5% of Galilee Innovation Horizon Ltd., a technology incubator licensed by the Israeli Innovation Authority.
Meir Ben-Shabat was awarded the Yigal Alon Prize in 2017 for his contribution to the development of industry in Israel.
